Managing Roles

The Permission Manager add-on module adds the Roles folder under a database folder in the Object Explorer. The Roles folder displays all roles created in this database.

To add new role to a database:

1. Select Roles folder under the database
2. Choose New -> Role from a popup menu.
3. In the New Role dialog box, enter a role name.
4. Press OK button to add role.

To display role privileges:

• Select a role node under the Roles folder in the Object Explorer.
• Choose the Properties popup menu. All database object permissions, assigned to this role, will be displayed in the User Permissions View in the Properties Panel.

To edit role privileges:

• Select a role node under the Roles folder in the Object Explorer.
• Choose the Edit Permissions popup menu. The User Permission Editor panel will be opened in a separate document.
