Fragmenting a Table Using a Round-Robin Distribution Scheme

A round-robin distribution scheme distributes table data to multiple dbspaces in equal portions.

To fragment a table using the round-robin distribution scheme

  1. In the Table Editor, click the General tab.
  2. Select Fragmented from the Table Location list box.
The Distribution Scheme drop-down list box appears.
  3. Select Round-Robin from the Distribution Scheme list box.
  4. In the DBSpace grid, select the dbspaces where you want the table to be stored.
  5. Click an empty grid row to add addition dbspaces.
A DBSpaces list box appears, showing the dbspaces that are not used by the table.
  6. Select the appropriate dbspace and repeat, as necessary.
If there is no empty row, then all dbspaces are currently being used by the table.
  7. Choose Table->Execute to save the table in the database.

Note

The fragmenting distribution scheme might not be available for your IBM Informix database server.
