The Connect dialog box allows you to connect to a database using existing
connections created in the Connection Manager. The Connect dialog box
opens when the user attempts to launch an application tool, such as the
Table Editor or SQL Editor, out of context of the Object Explorer, for example,
using the Tools menu. It also opens, when the user attempts to connect to
a database from the Object Explorer and the login information was not saved
as part of the selected database connection.
The Connections list box displays the list of available database connections.
The remaining fields display the connection-specific login information, which
includes user name, password and database, if required by the operation. For
example, the Edit Database Object operation requires selection of
a database when the Create New Database operation does not.
Press Connect to establish a database connection.
Press Edit to open a Connection Manager dialog box for a selected connection
or to define a new connection.
