Configuring Version Snapshots Repository
Version Snapshots Repository is maintained by Sentinel server. Server Studio serves just as GUI client to Sentinel server, which executes 'create snapshot' commands and puts schema snapshots to a repository database. A repository database is the embedded Cloudscape database located om Sentinel host comptuter. To retrieve information from Version Snapshots Repository, Server Studio connects to Sentinel server that hosts a repository and sends a command to retrieve specified version snapshot.
You can define which Sentinel server will host Version Snapshots Repository for each Informix IDS server independently from each other. Default setting in Server Studio is to use the same Sentinel server for all Informix instances defined in Server Studio.
